Please note that the following term and semester dates relate to the general teaching and examination periods at the University. Dates may differ for some programmes of study, especially for postgraduate and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences programmes. For future University key dates see our almanac.

• Autumn term: Monday 3 October to Friday 16 December 2022
• Spring term: Monday 16 January to Friday 31 March 2023
• Summer term: Monday 1 May to Friday 23 June 2023

Semesters

Teaching dates apply to most but not all of the University's learning and teaching provision.

• Autumn semester: Teaching begins: Monday 3 October 2022. Teaching ends: Friday 16 December 2022
• Spring semester: Teaching begins: Monday 30 January 2023 (start dates may vary by School). Teaching ends: Friday 12 May 2023

Introduction week

• Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October 2022

Examinations

• Autumn semester: Monday 16 January to Friday 27 January 2023
• Spring semester: Monday 22 May to Friday 9 June 2023

Dates when the University will be closed

• 23 December 2022 to 2 January 2023
• 6 April (University closes at 12.30pm) to 11 April 2023
• 1 May 2023
• 29 to 30 May 2023
• 28 to 29 August 2023
